Summer Palette on Falkland Wool Roving - Hand Dyed Hand Spinning Fiber

Hand dyed Falkland wool roving (combed top) for spinning and felting in Three Waters Farm colorway Summer Palette. Each braid weighs 4 ounces.

The first photo is two braids wound together; the next four photos are all of the same braid.

Falkland wool roving (combed top) 4 ounces. Approximately 26 microns, with a staple length between 4-6 inches, this wool feels much softer than its 26 microns would indicate. (It is similar to BFL this way.) The fiber is crimped but open, with lots of body and loft, which makes it easy to spin. Falkland will make a yarn with plenty of bounce and memory.
