4 ounces of Easy to Spin, Acala Lint Cotton. This cotton is straight from the gin and contains small amounts of vegetable matter. This is wonderful cotton for dyeing and for hand carding. It will spin into a lovely, naturally textured yarn. Easy to Spin cotton retains the natural crimp of the fiber, making it easy to spin. Really! Cotton sliver is directional: it will be easier to spin from one side than the other. If you are having trouble spinning it from one direction, try spinning from the other end. You can also gently stroke the sliver with your forefinger to determine which way the sliver runs. The cotton should lay smoothly under your stroking (instead of fuzzing up.)
